PROJECT OUTCOMES

Through my research process I have put together a compendium of Pride worst practices and better practices. These recommendations have come from my research, which as I have learned through the same research, does not adequately represent transgender, gender non-conforming, and QPOC. I don’t believe this entirely discounts this research; however, I find it critical to contextualize my findings. I have attempted to present my outcomes with this recognition and understanding.

The Worst and Better Practices in International Humanitarian Aid and Other Program Intervention Studio explores damaging yet widespread programs, purportedly undertaken with the aim of helping disadvantaged people or disaster victims but which do more harm than good. Whether it’s governmental or inter-governmental aid where politics and commerce are the prime motivators, or social enterprise and Corporate Social Responsibility programs where profit is the chief imperative, to well-intentioned but naive amateur clothing and food donation drives – the pervasiveness of such bad practice demands focused attention and action to counter the ignorance surrounding these efforts, and turn worst into better practice.
